Joey played in his first U.S. Kids Golf Tournament at age 3. He qualified for his first professional golf tournament (Minnesota State Open) at age 15 and again at 17yrs. Joey was one of the top junior golfers in the state of Minnesota. He was the medalist for the state of MN qualifying him to play in the USGA Junior Amateur Championship in 2015, which was at the beautiful Pete Dye Colleton River Plantation Course in South Carolina.
Growing up Joey was always around golf. His father was a teaching pro and he grew up on the family driving range that also had an 18 hole wedge course. Joey and his brother Bobby played many rounds at the wedge course and hit balls year round on the driving range. The only sport Joey and his brother has played is golf.
Joey turned professional in Arizona at the WMPO pre-qualifier. Moving to Arizona has allowed Joey to practice year-round to prepare him for professional tournaments around the country. The goal is to work his way on to the Web.com tour and to ultimately play on the PGA Tour.
